Project Pamper

As revision is upon me, the products I am currently using are turning my bathroom into a relaxation haven with the properties and scents revolving around de-stressing, ready to send me into my nightly slumber. For the general ambience and fragrant of the bathroom, I am currently obsessed with the Coco and Sandalwood range from Molton Brown. This gentle scent is fresh, coconuty and woody and manages to travel around the whole bathroom and often further into the apartment hallway, which is an absolute delight when opening the front door. Molton Brown’s candles have essential oils layered throughout the wax, which means from first to last light the scent will be just as powerful. The aroma reeds have a recommended timespan of four months, but I often find them lasting for six with a bi-weekly turnaround of the top quality reeds. I use the Molton Brown Mer-rouge Deep Conditioning Mask on a weekly basis and find this completely nourishes and hydrates my hair, making me feel like

Skincare Routine

Image
Starting with the morning, as I tend to not wear foundation in the daytime, but need other products such as my concealer to blend onto my skin nicely, I make sure I always use a moisturiser with an SPF of at least 30, regardless of the time of year. This is important when using the Alpha H Liquid Gold, as the active ingredients make skin much more sensitive to any rays and more likely to contract sunburn. The moisturiser I opt for is Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Future Moisture Cream which I find very lightweight and soothing on the skin. Throughout the day if my lips feel dry I apply the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant to them, as learnt from Gabbie Lindley from VelvetGh0st, which makes lips feel moisturised and have a nice sheen to them. If I'm heading out in the evening and want to wear a drying, matte lipstick I will feel like they are primed and smooth enough to do so. I sometimes pop this on my brows too to keep them in place as my friend Georgi

REVIEW! Mane N Tail The Original Shampoo and Conditioner

Image
As I tend to rave to everyone and their dog about this line of haircare I thought I would compile my thoughts in a blog post (after two years of no posting – oops!).  I first heard about Mane N Tail from Cosmetics Charlotte on YouTube (Now called CharlottesChance). I immediately ordered the “original” shampoo and conditioner from Amazon to see the results for myself.   From the first wash I was hooked; my hair has never felt so soft and manageable; my unruly curly hair became much easier to style, whether I left it to dry naturally or used a hairdryer. I try to make sure that I don’t use them more than once a week as I am worried that my hair will get used to them and I often take breaks between repurchasing them as I know once I use it in my hair again, I will feel the effects more intensely. The added benefit is definitely the hair growth – if you’re in the market for a product to do this them make sure you purchase a set as I have tried many products claiming to stimulate

Dear Santa… Pixi Glow Tonic 250ml £18 http://www.marksandspencer.com/glow-tonic-250ml/p/p22424632?&pdpredirect Who doesn’t need an extra glow in this awful weather? I have heard raving reviews about this cult product but for some reason I’ve never picked a bottle up, although they handily stock the Pixi range in Marks and Spencer in the UK. They also sell a cute giftable 100ml for £10 in their Christmas range. (If you’re quick and spend over £35 you may also be eligible to get their advent calendar for £35 too! So total spend is £70 to pick one up, and they are worth over £200) Kate Spade One in a Million “J” Necklace £50 http://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/kate-spade-new-york-one-in-a-million-j-12ct-gold-plated-pendant_133-3003424-WBRU7652/ I love this dainty necklace from Kate Spade and its personal touch of having an initial in the middle as this will look lovely with lower cut necklines on tops and dresses, and if you want to go all High School Musical

Empties November 2014!

Liz Earle Botanical Essence Eau De Parfum no.15 After receiving a sample of this perfume with my purchase of the Cleanse and Polish I knew I had to purchase the full size 50ml version, as I had never come across such an endearing smell. I would definitely say this is an autumn/winter fragrant and as I am awful at describing perfumes and their “notes”, I would recommend anyone to pop to a Liz Earle concession and give this a smell. I have heard this perfume be likened to Viktor and Rolf’s Spicebomb, but after smelling both I definitely think the L.E. perfume is nicer! Overall 10/10 Would I buy again? YES! & Other Stories Body Lotion in Moroccan Tea The first time I had ever been to an & Other Stories store was this year in February and everything about the brand blew me away! I am in love with their accessories, clothing and beauty range! I originally came across a soap bar of this Moroccan Tea scent in the store and as I was about to purchase it I noticed the b

Chevron Chic

Image
Chevron was once a print which I could only associate with homeware and stationery such as my beloved bright orange/white Tesco bedsheets, but seeing it filter into the high street has made me realise how it is an eye-catching and interesting way to add colour and texture to a garment.  Sleek Layered Necklace http://www.forever21.com/UK/Product/Product.aspxbr=F21&Category=acc_jewellery&ProductID=1000070585 This simple necklace can be used to dress up almost any outfit and would look amazing worn with a shirt as the angles would align with the shirt's collar.  DKNY Quilted Mini Skirt http://www.theoutnet.com/en-GB/product/DKNY/Quilted-stretch-silk-mini-skirt/456830 This cute skirt has a subtle chevron texture as the fabric of the body and could easily be dressed up or dressed down.  The Laden Showroom X Paisie Shirt Dress http://www.asos.com/The-Laden-Showroom/The-Laden-Showroom-X-Paisie-Shirt-Dress-in-Chevron-Print/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx

Winter Wishlist!

A few things I have my eye on for the upcoming season... Camel Midi Coat http://www.riverisland.com/women/coats--jackets/coats/Camel-double-breasted-midi-coat-660160 You definitely can't go wrong with one of these coats which are seen in almost every high street store at the moment! They are a classic and can be worn with almost any colour underneath and keeps your entire body snug. Burgundy Lipstick http://narscosmetics.co.uk/en_GB/makeup-lips-lipstick/999NACSTNLS01.html?dwvar_999NACSTNLS01_color=7845010609#start=3 I'm becoming rather obsessed with burgundy at the moment and dark lipsticks are definitely a winner for winter! Stella McCartney Chain Bag http://www.stellamccartney.com/gb/stella-mccartney/tote_cod45221399lv.html#detailsContent I seem to be the owner of only boxy bags at the moment and as much as I love them, on the congested street 8:30am walk to university I am fed up of getting in the way of people. To me, this is almost the perfect slouchy bag.
